Volume I Books

Our small used and antiquarian shop is located in Hillsdale, Michigan. We are are located in the bottom part of Michigan's mitten, at the base of the palm, where the Indiana, Ohio and Michigan borders meet. The store is owned by Richard Wunsch, who started it about 25 years ago. We specialize in Labor History, Socialism and Communism, but we also have a very large selection of general stock, including about 1500 cookbooks. We have an inventory of over 90,000+ books in the store, from Paperback Genre Fiction (Mystery, Romance, Westerns and Sci-Fi) to rare items.

We also have Vintage Vinyl room on second floor and carry a large selection of paper items, from cookbooklets to maps, and a very large collection of leftist political paper, as well old postcards, and political buttons and other materials.

Our town is home to very conservative Hillsdale College. So, we also have a good selection of Conservative Political books in stock as well.

We travel to bookshows throughout the Midwest, and are members of the Midwest Antiquarian Booksellers Association, and the Mid-Michigan Antiquarian Book Dealers Association, and Hillsdale County Chamber of Commerce, among others.

My name is Aimee England, and I have been the bookstore manager and have worked in the booktrade since I was 18 years old. I manage Volume I Books full time and we maintain an online database of just under 10,000 books.
We sell on line on ABE, ZVAB, BIBLIO.COM and ALIBRIS, as well as our own website, www.volume1books.net.
