Black Swan Books opened its doors in Lexington, Kentucky January, 1984. For over twenty years Black Swan has promoted the talents of local Kentucky authors, as well as hosting nationally recognized authors, both established and upcoming.

Black Swan Books buys and sells used and rare books. Our inventory consists of primarily hardbound titles in dust jackets. We take special care to stock titles only in excellent condition and we do not deal in ex-library copies. All of our dust jackets are protected by Brodart mylar covers. Black Swan Books also supports the local private presses in Lexington by offering hand-printed, hand-bound limited editions, broadsides, and chapbooks.
